These links go back to one site, and they ask for credit card information.. they are offering free downloads for a membership fee. I found my books there, I found my mother’s books there. I’ve contacted Amazon to let them know as well. Please do NOT buy from these sites… IF you’re an author please look for your content and ask them to remove it.
If you’re a reader… please don’t give them your Credit Card… there are numerous complaints about these sites. Broken links, re directions… and it’s piracy. The writers get nothing for their hard work. Please don’t support these sites.
Thankfully I do not enlist in these forms of practice. All images placed at my site are linked directly to the respective author’s location – Amazon or where they may offer their book(s).
I’m well aware of the ‘copyright infringement’ atmosphere but have never heard of this form of credit phishing situation. I have located a number of sites authors have placed their books for sale. I’m not sure if those sites are on the phishing scam but when looking for a book to purchase, if I don’t land on the author’s page or to some unknown site – I check things out.
What criminals think they can pull off or get away with is beyond me. There are plenty of ways to earn a decent living and being a criminal isn’t one of them.
This also presents legitimate site operators something to concern themselves with.
