Travel Log: May 1st

Hubby’s doing much better… but we got a late start. We messed with the lights on the trailer trying to get them to work for an hour then ended up paying for them to get fixed and that took 2 hrs. They turned off hubby’s Credit Card because they thought it was stolen and we had to get that straightened out.

That put us in Dallas traffic in the middle of the rush hour and we were stuck in traffic for 2 more hours. We should’ve spent the night in Albuquerque but we were stuck in Texas. We saw an idiot on a motorcycle zipping in and out of traffic almost causing accidents. We’re told to look twice and save a life.. but what about THEM? He almost cause 3 accidents with his actions.

We finally left Dallas and all that mess behind and we’re wiped out tired. We made it to Abilene and started looking for a hotel but all of them were booked up. We finally found a hotel with 1 room left; it was in the smoking section and on the 2nd floor but we didn’t care. The AC wasn’t working.. but hubby got the intake cleaned off and we got comfy… ordered pizza and crashed.

This Hotel, isn’t as nice as the one yesterday but it was the only one with a room. No microwave, no fridge, no tub.. just a shower.

Oh!! There are mountains in texas.. or in other states they’d call them really big hills. I worked on my story until the battery on my laptop died. My phone made an almost full recovery. Hubby drove a lot… We saw two 2016 Camaro SS’s with the blue and silver stripes! The Wendy’s got our order right on the first try.. I told them I’d give them a good review because the city we live in hasn’t gotten it right once in 2 yrs.

Right now I’m tired of driving and riding… I’m eager to get somewhere and unpack and relax for a bit. They want hubby to come in to their store this afternoon; I’m not exactly happy about that… we’re coming off a long trip but he’ll do it if we make it in time.

Kawanee was born in Alexandria Louisiana but her first real memories are of Russellville Arkansas. She's always loved to read, and has always had an vivid imagination. She grew up in a house where almost everyone read, they didn't need a TV although she could still be found planted on her butt in front of her grandma's TV watching cartoons on Saturday mornings. She made up her first story with her mother when her cat died; it was about where pets go when they die. She continued to create stories from bad dreams she had and her dad would help her change nightmares to stories. They would sit up in a chair until the scary went away. He told her that: "Dreams, good or bad, are just stories your mind makes up. You are the author of your dreams; if you don't like them rewrite them. " She was hooked and has continued to read and write stories drawing from dreams, sights and just pure imagination. She just recently decided she'd like to try and get published and fail than wonder what if. Her story continues but where it goes from here is up to you, the Reader... She hopes you'll join her in finding out where her journey goes from here!
