Daily Post: In the Summer

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “In the Summertime.”

The highlight and lowpoint of my summer so far as been a trip to Phoenix AZ. It was an experience to see the desert; it’s beautiful in it’s own way. Rock formations and cacti with their flowers I was there before it got to be ungodly hot. I was there for 6 weeks and it was nice; fraught with different health issues but I met with old friends and made a few new ones.

At the same time it was a huge chunk of time away from my home, missing mother’s day with my son. Likely his last at home. And it signaled the beginning of an extremely busy time in my life; packing a warehouse, packing my house.. looking for a new place in Florida. Busy Busy…

I feel like I haven’t had a chance to catch my breath; I know I haven’t been blogging much less doing any serious writing. I don’t like being unsettled. I like knowing what’s expected of me and what to expect in return. There’s a lot of uncertainty in my life right now and I don’t like htat at all.

As for what I look forward to for next year? A little more quiet and to be settled into a new place. A new house and hopefully new friends… a releasing some more books. I want to go to Disney world… I’m hoping my mother will move to Florida so I can keep an eye on her better. I’m hoping we don’t have to move again. I’m looking forward to sort of settling in.. making friends, having a stable paycheck and being able to save money. I want to have fun stuff to do… I’m tired of being a homebody and bored.

Is that too much to look forward to? Are my expectations too high? I don’t think so… but I guess we’ll find out right?
