Kawanee was born in Alexandria Louisiana but her first real memories are of Russellville Arkansas. She's always loved to read, and has always had an vivid imagination. She grew up in a house where almost everyone read, they didn't need a TV although she could still be found planted on her butt in front of her grandma's TV watching cartoons on Saturday mornings. She made up her first story with her mother when her cat died; it was about where pets go when they die. She continued to create stories from bad dreams she had and her dad would help her change nightmares to stories. They would sit up in a chair until the scary went away. He told her that: "Dreams, good or bad, are just stories your mind makes up. You are the author of your dreams; if you don't like them rewrite them. " She was hooked and has continued to read and write stories drawing from dreams, sights and just pure imagination. She just recently decided she'd like to try and get published and fail than wonder what if. Her story continues but where it goes from here is up to you, the Reader... She hopes you'll join her in finding out where her journey goes from here!

  1. Hi Kawanee,
I read what you wrote here. I, too, have always loved to read. As I raised my daughters, I also instilled a love of reading in them. They still reminisc over books we read together when they were small, and we saved those books in our attic.
Thank you for reblogging my article. I clicked “Notify me of new comments…” so I can see what your readers think of it.

    1. It’s good to get the kids reading young; I taught my sister to read before she was in kindergarten. When it came to my own son, there was work and house cleaning and everything else that I was just too tired. There never seemed to be enough time so I dropped the ball there.

I’ve got books my mom read to me too. Great memories to have as we get older.

In the meantime Welcome to my little corner of the “interwebs” 😀 I hope you like what I’m doing with the place.

I’ve been a bit busy and neglectful lately but I’ll get back on track soon. (ish) Real life getting in the way.. *blech*

      1. Hi,
Thanks for writing. I love the connections blogging makes. We are connecting over books! I am impressed with Chris’s community members like yourself that blog in addition to everything else that life brings. I can understand being busy.
I have been busy too lately. After almost a year of blogging, I just started a new, self-hosted site which I have been busy getting ready. It’s been fun connecting!

      2. I’m a writer… lol getting ready to launch my book on a Facebook event. There will be prizes and a lot of other authors helping me get my name out there.

My books have been out for a couple of years but I’ve never properly launched them. Never had time, but lost my job and now I have time.

      3. I don’t know yet… I’m doing final edits and prepping to move to Florida so it’s up in the air. I was hoping sometime this month but I’m not sure if I’ll manage. Might have to postpone until September.

        *pouts* but I dun wanna!
