Neat news….

I went to the dentist today. While that might not seem like a big deal, it is when you haven’t been in over 30 years. I know… I know… Teeth are important and stuff and I really wanted to go and get a cleaning and do all the normal things people do.

Trouble is, I didn’t have insurance and other things are important as well.

The deal is, I have insurance now (until the 30th) and since I’m unemployed at the moment, I had the time to go and found someone to take my insurance. WOOT and YAY!!

I feared for the worst, cavities galore, gum disease and other…

Not one cavity. Not one. How in the heck did that happen? Yes, there’s some tartar buildup and I need a deep cleaning to help with my gums… and I have a wisdom tooth they want to pull, but all in all… it wasn’t a bad visit. I mean I take care of my teeth, but still, nothing beats regular dental care and I expected far worse.

Now, they either have to do it before my insurance runs out and it’ll cost $246 for everything (which I won’t have until after my first paycheck with the new company) or I have to wait until my new insurance kicks in… Or I could pay to keep my dental insurance…. which is only $5 a month and wait until I get back on financial track.

Feeling pretty okay,

  1. Great, Kawanee. I had to spend a fortune on my teeth. Although we have the National Health Service in the UK, we still have to pay for part of dental care. (That and opticians.) much of my work wasn’t offered on the NHS, but needed doing if I wasn’t to lose my teeth.
I go regularly, but still have problems. It’s fantastic you’ve no major work needing doing. My husband didn’t go for years and has better teeth than me. I think it’s more to do with genes than dentists.
Anyway, you’re sounding more upbeat, and that’s great.
